My first run at age 53

by Alejandro Pareja
(Valdemoro, Madrid, Spain)

I ran 2270 metres, on sidewalks and concrete, at 6 am in the morning (still dark), the temperature was around +2 centigrade (35 F).

I'm a 53 year old male and I live in central Spain, Europe. My average heart rate during the test run was 146 bpm, so I think I could have run faster.

I ran the cooper test about a year ago and at that time I ran 2220 meters, but with an average heart rate of 151 bpm, so I had been exerting myself much more.

I'm obviously improving with age, much like a fine wine!

Alejandro

My first test run

by Rachael
(Brighton, CO)

I had never heard of the Cooper Test Run until I read about it on your site.

I was pleasantly surprised to find out, I am not as out of shape as I thought I was. As a matter of fact, my aerobic fitness level is above average!

I am a 31-year-old female who tries to exercise fairly regularly, though having small kids does make it rather difficult to stick with a regular workout schedule.

I tried my first Cooper Test Run on a treadmill in my basement, and I am not certain how accurate the assessment was, (does anybody out there know?) but I was able to run 2,328 meters in 12 minutes. Not bad for an old lady!

I'm going to aim for an excellent rating over the next few weeks, and am looking forward to gaining better cardiovascular health.

All the best, Rachael

First Cooper Ever

by Theo
(USA)

I ran 3100 but I think I could've ran 3300 if the person running the test would've told us how much time we had.
It wasn't hard, but it was cold so my calfs were tight but not windy.

I'm 13 years old,
I did this on a rainy and windy day for a sport lesson I got the best in my class with 2,500 metres. Oh yeah I'm a boy

So far

by Ian O'Donnell
(United Kingdom)

I ran on a treadmill in the gym for my first try at the cooper. I am 45 yrs old man and weigh 107KGS. I managed 2672M in the 12 minutes.

Not sure if it is accurate on treadmill, but I think it's a good time, although no obstacles. Just like running on a perfect day.
Great fun!

Ian

Fastest Run

by Graham
(Haverhill)

I am 63 years old and I ran 2,900 meters on a treadmill in 12 minutes. Not bad for an old guy, if I don't say so myself.

I realize it's in the perfect conditions of an indoor treadmill environment, but I'm still pretty happy about my results.
