fake jump rope
by jessica
(kentucky)
When I watch tv, I burn extra calories by fake jumping rope during commercials.
No equipment needed. I just jump and swing my arms like I would if I had a real jump rope.
It gets my heart rate going and usually by the time the commercials are over, I'm a little out of breath.

Start a healthy day
by Yadira
(Allentown, PA)
Three times a week I go for a 30 minute walk around the park. Sometimes I carry my weights during those walks. It can really help to burn some calories and start a healthy and anti-stress day.
Before eating meals I usually drink a considerable amount of water and I serve on my plate the right amount of food with only the necessary calories. The water helps me to avoid eating in excess.
While talking by phone or cell phone keep yourself walking around the house, for additional calorie burn.

Embrace Public Transportation
by Euky
(Washington, DC)
I am from the city and didn't get my driver's license until I was 29. I always used public transportation (Metro Buses and trains). I was always pretty thin and petite.
Well; when I got my license and first car I noticed that I did gain about 10 lbs. Now getting caught in the rain; grocery shopping; and life in general were so much easier with a car.
But I did notice the weight gain.
Fortunately, I was pretty small so that people, including myself find the 10 lbs. attractive and healthy looking.
But, if you really want to burn calories fast; including public transportation in your routine will help tremendously. I gained the 10 lbs. in less than a month when I started driving.

Climbing stairs
by F. Tschernitz
(Austria)
If you work in an office-building, you could take the stairs rather than take the elevator to rise.
I do this every day, it uses many calories and keeps me in great shape as well.
This can burn over 250 calories per 15-20 minutes. (and tightens your legs and buttocks as a nice side-effect)
Of course this works fine too if working in smaller buildings as well, thank you.
